Your future responsiblities include:
- Operate Grinding Machines:
- Set up and operate OD grinding machines to grind steel rolls with precision.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality.
- Process Parameters:
- Monitor and control all process parameters to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the grinding process.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of OD grinding machines and equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Utilize various measurement methods to verify product specifications, including total indicating runout, roughness measurement, and cylindrical measurements.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production, quality checks, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare reports on production efficiency, quality issues, and corrective actions taken.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving grinding processes and techniques.
- Adherence to Standards:
- Understand and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices.
- Adhere to the systems of TPM 5S and ISO standards in all work processes.
Your professional and personal profile:
- Education:
- ITI Turner or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience operating OD grinding machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience with big grinding machines, special purpose machines, turbine manufacturing, or gear manufacturing.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of measurement methods including total indicating runout, roughness measurement, and cylindrical measurements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Exposure to a global working environment.
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices and adherence to TPM 5S and ISO standards.
